Eiffel Tower shut down for 6 hours because of a staff walkout in protest a surge in pickpocketing gangs. Staff were threaten by pickpocket gangs and apparently, similar thing happened to the staff of the Louvre in 2013. The Louvre shut down because the staff were spat at, abused and even assaulted by pickpocketing gangs.
The staff of Eiffel Tower said they walked out so they could ask for a permanent police presence here.
